Going Green at Grassroots Level

It is easy in our everyday lives not to give much thought to the environment yet we are all playing a part in degrading it. We thought it would be best to start out on the right footing by deciding very early on how we would conduct ourselves and be kinder to the environment.
The aim of Glasgow Bakers environmental policy is to help protect the environment throughout our estate by ensuring our actions are carried out in a responsible and sustainable manner whilst setting out a strict guideline for how we will conduct our day to day business operations.
Going Green - Our 7 Point Plan
We focus our efforts on the key issues in our business and we are committed to minimising the impact of our activities on the environment.
The key points of its strategy to achieve this are:
Minimise waste by not using, where avoidable, single-use plastic products and avoiding the distribution of any product containing single-use material.
Reduce toxic emissions through the selection and use of any vehicles used and the source of its greener energy suppliers.
Actively promote recycling, both internally and amongst our customers and suppliers.
Source and promote a locally grown range of ingredients to minimise the environmental impact of both production and distribution.
Source and promote a British made product range to minimise the environmental impact of both production and distribution.
Actively support local food waste initiatives to ensure we minimise any and all food waste material.
Promote healthier attitudes towards food, its production and the environment.
